Testing is how we guess at the efficacy of our machine learning models out in the real world. The basics may seem obvious, but specific test metrics can help you emphasize performance on the parts of your application that are the most important. Depending on the rewards for good predictions and the penalties for bad ones, we can change the type of tests we use to emphasize one over the other.
